Dr. Vincent DeGennaro

About Me

I am the Medical Doctor of the AHF Healthcare Centers: Northpoint HCC. I started working in HIV/AIDS advocacy during medical school, specifically pediatric HIV. Those interests in HIV led me to work in global public health. I lived and worked abroad for ten years, from 2011 to 2020. I've worked in a dozen countries, but mainly in Rwanda and Haiti. While there, I treated hundreds of patients with HIV and tuberculosis. I focused on public health projects and research, as well as education and capacity building for local staff. By a twist of fate, I ended up working in cancer care, helping to found Rwanda's national cancer program and starting Haiti's largest cancer treatment clinic, including those with HIV/AIDS. I moved home to start a family, and I'm excited to finally be working in HIV medicine. The advancements in treatment and prevention in the last ten years are exciting and have opened a new chapter in the epidemic. I'm proud to start playing a small part in the care and research to improve the future of those living with HIV.


I love to travel and have visited over 80 countries. My favorite countries I've visited are Ecuador, Malaysia, Uganda, and Italy. I speak Spanish, Haitian Creole, Italian, and French.
