About Me

I am the Medical Director at AHF Healthcare Center - Oakland Park. It has been an honor and huge responsibility to care for people with HIV/AIDS over the last 20 years. In 1998, while being a Family Medicine Resident at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Miami clinics, I began to understand the need for medical care for HIV positive patients. During my five years at Broward County Health Department Special Immunology Clinic., I realized the enormous medical needs of our patients. It was during that time more HIV medications became available and people really began having hope again for long productive lives. All of us in the HIV medical field were witness to these changes and knew the important work we were doing to fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Over the years, I have used my skills not only in public health or in the county clinics but as a Family Practitioner and HIV/AIDS specialist for patients in the Broward County Jail detention facilities. My work relationship with AHF began five years ago while working in the jail facilities. I chose to continue to work with AHF for the hard work, passion, leadership, and high quality HIV/AIDS medical care that the AHF staff and clinics provide in our community and around the world. These experiences and so many of my other life experiences have shaped the doctor I am today.

Fun Fact:  I am a Untied States Air Force Veteran and served our country in the Medical Corp as a General Pathologist during Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. After my honorable discharge from the USAF, my career included working as the Chief of Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Services at a Veterans Affairs neuropsychiatric hospital in Pennsylvania.
