About Me

I am the Medical Director of the AHF Healthcare Center: Gurley Healthcare Center. I am the Medical Director of the AHF Healthcare Center Auburn in Atlanta, Georgia. Born and raised in Loja, Ecuador, I developed a deep commitment to serving underserved communities early in life. My journey in medicine began with a passion for both science and human connection, leading me to complete medical school in Loja. I did my residency in Internal Medicine at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, where I served as Chief Resident, and a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

My path into HIV medicine began unexpectedly, but it quickly became a profound calling. Caring for marginalized populations reinforced my dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care to those who need it most.

As a native Spanish speaker, I value the ability to connect with patients in their own language, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and supported in their healthcare journey.

Fun Fact: I studied the violin for 10 years at the Conservatory in Loja, Ecuador. Music has been a lifelong passion and a source of solace, much like medicine is for healing the body.
