Blake Huggins, NP

About Me

I am a provider of the AHF Healthcare Centers: Westside. Ten years ago, I became interested in HIV medicine while volunteering for mobile HIV/STI testing. I then felt inspired to become a nurse practitioner because I wanted to help improve access to care. While in graduate school, I focused my research on PrEP and healthcare disparities within the LGBTQ+ community. I chose to work at AHF because I believe all people should have access to quality, equitable healthcare. My favorite part about working at AHF is taking care of the community where I work and live.

I was an ICU nurse for over eight years before finding my home in HIV primary care. In my spare time, I teach group exercise classes and enjoy cycling. I have a passion for traveling; my favorite experience has been staying on the Serengeti in Tanzania, Africa. I'm originally from North Carolina, but now live in West Hollywood with my husband and Boston Terrier.
