About Me
I am the medical director of the AHF Healthcare Center: South Beach. My work with AHF connects me to my core values of healthcare and housing as a human right. I identify as an activist, aiming to improve lives of people living with HIV and the LGBTQI+ community. I do so through compassionate care that reaches beyond our clinic walls because my work isn't finished until every patient has access to the support, resources, and the rights to live their most fulfilling lives. I also enjoy providing primary care and hormone therapy for transgender and gender-diverse individuals, as well as providing services such as annual pap smears for cervical cancer screenings. My medical training was at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas, where I received a Distinction in Community Health for research on the quality of life for transgender adolescents receiving gender-affirming care. I went on to my top choice residency in Family Medicine in rural Hawaii where specialists are in short supply. My skills caring for people living with HIV were sharpened by necessity as well as a deep love for this patient population. I'm honored to provide patient care through AHF in South Florida, where we value people before profit and advocacy is intertwined in all of our work.
Fun Fact: I love to hang out with my animals and I am an avid gardener. You're most likely to find me at a plant nursery because I believe that one can never have too many plants!
